Matthias Häberlein (* 26. August 1969 in Greiz ) is a former German Volleyball - national team .

Matthias Häberlein played volleyball in the GDR as a teenager , first at SC Rotation Berlin and from 1984 at TSC Berlin . He also played around 75 times in the GDR junior national team, from which he broke away in May 1988 during a tournament in Greece and moved to the Federal Republic of Germany. Here the player first played for the second division club VfL Sindelfingen and from 1990 for the Bundesliga club TSV Milbertshofen , with whom he became German champion in his first season . After retiring from Milbertshofen, Häberlein joined the ASV Dachau in 1991 and was again German champion in 1995 and 1996 and DVV cup winner in 1997 . Another highlight was the move into the final of the Champions League in 1996. From 1997 to 1999 the setter was active for the Spanish club CV Gran Canaria . Matthias Häberlein was represented in the rankings of German volleyball for many years and played around 125 times for the German national team .

Today Matthias Häberlein lives in Gran Canaria, where he works as a guest manager.
