Career

Hinrichsen started playing handball at SG Friedrichsberg-Hüsby-06. In 1999 he joined the HSG Tarp-Wanderup . As an A-youth, Hinrichsen was part of the first men's team, which played in the second division at the time and was later relegated to the regional division. In the summer of 2005, the back player moved to league rivals DHK Flensborg . After just one season, the right-hander moved to regional league club VfL Bad Schwartau . With VfL, Hinrichsen rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2008. The VfL team captain also made it to the quarter-finals of the DHB Cup in 2010 and 2011 . In the 2013/14 season he ran again for the HSG Tarp-Wanderup until the team withdrew. In the 2014/15 season, Hinrichsen coached the HSG men's team, which competed in the Schleswig-Holstein League. On October 2, 2014, he returned to the VfL Bad Schwartau squad for six weeks, which had to complain about several injuries-related absences in the backcourt. On December 21, 2014 Hinrichsen played the last game for VfL, for which he scored eight goals in eight league games during this period. In the summer of 2015, Hinrichsen joined the third division club DHK Flensborg, where he worked as a player and assistant coach. A year later he took over the coaching position of the SH league club HSG Eider Harde . In 2018, Eider Harde rose to the top division under his leadership.
