Matthias Mayr (born April 9, 1989 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a former German ice hockey player who last played for TSV Farchant.
Career
Mayr first went through all youth departments at SC Riessersee and played in the DNL team in the 2004/05 season. In the next five years Mayr completed an apprenticeship as an electrician and played in the SC Riessersee amateur team in the district league. In the 2010/11 season he was appointed to the 1st team and was able to win the league championship with SC Riessersee and so move up to the 2nd Bundesliga .
Despite his ice hockey commitments, Mayr continues to work as an electrician, even if only part-time.
During the 2012/13 season, Mayr did not find a permanent place in the SC Riessersee team under coach Axel Kammerer , which is why he was loaned to the upper division EV Füssen to get more match practice.
In May 2013 it was announced that Mayr will move to the upper division EV Füssen together with Martin Pfohmann .
