Matthias Nilssen (born May 1, 1977 ) is a former Swedish biathlete .

Matthias Nilssen began his international career at the 1997 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Forni Avoltri , where he was 22nd in the individual and eighth in the individual. In the second half of the 1997/98 season he made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup and was 74 in his first individual in Pokljuka . In the further course of the weekend he achieved his best World Cup result with a 65th place in a sprint. Although he came in the 1998/99 season only at the beginning of the season in Hochfilzen to World Cup appearances, Nilsson was nominated for the 1999 Biathlon World Championships in Kontiolahti , where he came to two missions. In the sprint he finished 72nd, with Rickard Noberius , Fredrik Kuoppa and Tord Wiksten he came in tenth in the relay race. After that he mostly started in the European Cup and only made two appearances in the World Cup. 2000 in Antholz , where he was 69th in a sprint and in 2003 at the end of his career in Ruhpolding , when he was 85th in a sprint.
