Maurice Choukrane

Maurice Choukrane (born September 21, 1956 in Cairo ) is an American ballet dancer .

Life

Choukrane studied dance at the Ballet Academy Queens and the American Ballet Theater School in New York. From 1975 to 1977 he was engaged at the Stadttheater St. Gallen , from 1977 to 1986 and from 1988 to 1990 at the Theater Basel (under Heinz Spoerli ) and 1986 to 1987 at the Zurich Opera House (under Uwe Scholz ). Choukrane was particularly successful in comic roles such as Alain in Hérold's La Fille mal gardée , the drunk in Coppélia (1984), the servant in Jahn's John Falstaff (1984) or the Katschei in Der Feuervogel (under Uwe Scholz, 1986).

From 1990, after finishing his career as a dancer, Choukrane worked for Swissair as Maître de Cabine .
