Max Bennett (musician)
Max Bennett (* 24. May 1928 in Des Moines , Iowa ; † 14. September 2018 ) was a US American jazz - bassist . He played with Stan Kenton , Terry Gibbs and Charlie Mariano .
Live and act
At the beginning of his career Bennett played with Herbie Fields in 1949, Georgie Auld , Terry Gibbs and Charlie Ventura 1950-51, served from 1951 to 1953 in the US Army and in 1954 worked for Stan Kenton. Bennett then led his own formation and accompanied the singers Peggy Lee 1955–56, Ella Fitzgerald 1957–58 and played in 1959 with Terry Gibbs. Max Bennett also made recordings with the Sauter-Finegan Orchestra (1954), Charlie Mariano, Conte Candoli , Bob Cooper , Bill Holman , Stan Levey , Lou Levy , Coleman Hawkins , Jack Montrose and Frank Zappa .
