Max Herrmann (born March 17, 1885 in Danzig ; † January 29, 1915 ) was a German sprinter .
At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, he set the first official world record in this discipline (42.3 s) in the 4 x 100 meter relay together with Otto Röhr , Erwin Kern and Richard Rau . In the final, however, the German quartet was disqualified after a mistake. Over 100 and 400 meters , Herrmann was eliminated in the preliminary run, over 200 meters he reached the semi-finals.
In 1911 and 1913 he was German champion over 400 meters.
Max Herrmann started for SC Charlottenburg .
