Max Molling (born January 15, 1834 in Hildesheim ; † March 14, 1910 in Hanover ) was a German businessman and founder of the Max Molling & Co.

Max Molling had three sons who also worked for a time in the Max Molling & Co. department store :

  • Benno Molling (born June 9, 1863 - † March 6, 1921),
    • who married Sophie Ruben (June 7, 1867 - May 3, 1932) and had their son Arthur with her (December 10, 1900 - October 17, 1921);
  • Adolf Molling († 1921)
  • and the youngest son, Gustav Molling .

After Gustav Molling retired from the company in 1917 for health reasons, his son-in-law, Fritz Gottschalk , joined the company in 1919 . Gottschalk's children were taught and photographed by the sports teacher Fritz Strube and depicted in his book Kinderturnen im Haus ... , published in 1926 .
