Max Rostock
Max Heinrich Rostock (* 12. September 1912 in Ludwigshafen on the Rhine , † 13. September 1986 in Mannheim ) was SS - Obersturmführer and head of the SD -Dienststelle in Kladno . In this capacity he was involved in the Lidice "retaliation" action.
Life
On August 26, 1939, he was transferred to the newly established group office of the SD in Prague . From May 1940 he was involved in setting up the SD office in Kladno .
In the summer of 1942, Max Rostock was transferred to Budweis as deputy service commander and, at the beginning of 1944, to Königgrätz in the same function . In March 1944 he was transferred to Hungary .
After the war he lived in Heidelberg and was arrested there in June 1946 by the Americans. In September 1946 he managed to escape to the other side of the Rhine, where he went into hiding in Ludwigshafen under a false name . Based on a wanted list in Czechoslovakia , he was arrested again by the French occupying forces in June 1948 and extradited to Prague in 1949.
In August 1951 he was sentenced to death in Prague. The sentence was changed to life imprisonment and later to 25 years imprisonment through pardons. Even in the Czech remand he offered his services to the unmasking of other employees of the SD on.
In 1959 they came back to the offer and released him on February 4, 1960 under the code name "Fritz" in the Federal Republic of Germany with the task of contacting old employees. However, the collaboration probably ended after a few months.
He was questioned several times by German courts, but there was no further trial. Max Heinrich Rostock lived as an employee in Bremen.
