Max Stadtfeld
Max Stadtfeld (born April 29, 1993 in Konstanz ) is a German jazz musician ( drums , composition ).
Stadtfeld grew up in Radolfzell . He initially received music lessons in the music school; In the local wind orchestra he first played classical percussion . From the age of 14 he received drum lessons at the Zurich University of the Arts . Until 2013 he was a member of the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Orchestra . From 2013 to 2018 he studied jazz at the University of Music Leipzig with Heinrich Köbberling , Michael Wollny and Johannes Lauer .
Stadtfeld has been working as a freelance musician since 2018. With his quartet Stax , which includes Matthew Halpin , Bertram Burkert and Reza Askari , he made his album debut with Act in 2019 . He also plays in a trio with Volker Heuken and Lorenz Heigenhuber. He can also be heard on albums by Jan Roth and the ensemble of Philipp Rumsch . He played with Michael Wollny, Émile Parisien , Wolfgang Heisig and Leafcutter John at the “100 Years of Bauhaus” ceremony at the Berlin Academy of the Arts . In 2019 he and the trio Heuken / Stadtfeld / Heigenhuber received the Leipzig Young Jazz Talent Award.
