Max Stiff

Max Anton Stiff (born January 5, 1890 in Busendorf , Bolchen district in today's Bouzonville, Lorraine, † January 30, 1966 in Münster ) was a German administrative lawyer .

Life

Max Anton Stiff, son of the notary Ludwig Stiff, studied after attending school in Busendorf in Lorraine and Altkirch in Alsace , law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. He was a member of the Catholic student associations AV Guestfalia Tübingen and KDStV Bavaria Bonn in the CV . In 1914 he was at the University of Greifswald with the work of the organs of the provincial government in Prussia to Dr. iur. utr. PhD . He entered the civil service and on March 12, 1912 became a court referendar at the Cologne Higher Regional Court. He then worked at the Sinzig District Court, the Saarbrücken and Cologne Regional Courts, the Cologne Public Prosecutor's Office and a Cologne law firm. After serving in the First World War, he worked as an assessor at the Cologne District Court from 1919 and later at the Cologne Higher Regional Court.

Max Stiff became district administrator of the Hildesheim district in 1922 . On November 21, 1929 he was initially commissioned with the administration of the District Office in Münster ; in April 1930 transferred to Münster as district administrator. On June 15, 1933, he was deposed by the Nazi regime because of his committed Catholic orientation and membership in the Center Party .

After the war he was appointed district administrator of the Münster district on May 16, 1945. From April 1946 until his retirement on April 30, 1955, he was senior district director in Münster. He was chairman of the DRK district association . In 1954 he became director at the social court in Münster.

His son was Günter Stiff .
