Maxime Busi (born October 14, 1999 in Liège ) is a Belgian football player who is under contract with the first division club Sporting Charleroi . The right full-back has been a Belgian U21 international since September 2019 .

Career

Busi started playing football at RFC Ivoz and came to Sporting Charleroi via Standard Liège and VV St. Truiden in July 2018 , where he had been part of the first team since his arrival. On September 26, 2018, he made his debut in a 2-0 cup win against Eendracht Aalst . In the league he was behind the experienced Greek Stergos Marinos, however, only the replacement in the right full defense and was always in the first half of the season without a game in the Zèbres squad . That changed towards the end of the main round of the 2018/19 season . On February 9, 2019 (25th matchday), head coach Felice Mazzù made his league debut in the 1-1 draw against KV Ostend when he started as a replacement for the suspended Marinos. In the remaining five games, he used it three more times. In the playoffs, Busi made another five appearances, four of them in the position of the right winger .

Under Mazzù's successor Karim Belhocine , he established himself as a regular in right full defense in October 2019. He played 21 league games this 2019/20 season.

Maxime Busi has been a Belgian U21 international since September 2019 .
