Belgian Football Cup 2018/19

The Belgian Football Cup 2018/19 began on July 28, 2018 with the first preliminary round matches and ended with the final on May 1, 2019 in Brussels . A total of 312 teams take part. In the first two rounds only clubs from divisions 4-9 played. In the third round the clubs of the 3rd division were added, in the fifth round those of the 2nd division . The clubs of the 1st division started in the 6th round. Six top division teams have already been eliminated, including defending champions Standard Liège , RSC Anderlecht and Club Bruges . Four more followed in the round of 16. In this round, the last remaining fourth division, the KFC Mandel United , was eliminated.

Up until the semi-finals, all matches were played in just one game. If it was a draw after 90 minutes, extra time followed and possibly a penalty shoot-out. There were also second legs in the semifinals. If both teams scored the same number of goals after the second leg, the away goals rule applied , with the same number of away goals an extra time followed and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out.

The final took place on May 1st, 2019 in the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.
