Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe (born February 21, 1989 in Ghent ) is a Belgian football player .

Career

In the club

The defender, who can also play in defensive midfield, comes from the youth of KAA Gent , from whom he moved to the youth department of RSC Anderlecht in 1999 . There he rose to the 2007/08 season in the professional squad and scored one goal in the game against the RAEC Mons during his three missions . During the winter break, he moved to Hamburger SV , where he signed a contract that ran until 2013. On February 17, 2008 he made his debut in the Bundesliga in the home game of Hamburger SV against VfL Bochum as a substitute. During the winter break of the 2008/09 season, Odjidja-Ofoe moved to Club Bruges , where he signed a contract that ran until 2013. After playing 181 league games for Bruges and scoring 22 goals, he moved to the Football League Championship at Norwich City for the 2014/15 season . In September 2015, he played on loan at Rotherham United .

For the 2016/17 season he moved to Poland to Legia Warsaw for two years .

The following season he joined Olympiacos Piraeus . In the summer of 2018 he then moved back to his first club, the KAA Gent , and signed a contract there for two years.

In the national team

The son of a Ghanaian father and a Belgian mother went through various Belgian youth national teams. During the qualification for the U-21 European Championship 2011 he completed a few games for the U-21 , but missed the qualification as second in the table. A little later he made his first short appearances in the senior national team against Russia and Azerbaijan . Against Kazakhstan he was then used for the first time longer. After that, he was no longer appointed to the national team.
