Maximilian Wanner

Maximilian "Max" Wanner (born September 13, 1855 in Thalfingen ; † July 8, 1933 in Augsburg ) was a German architect .

Life

Wanner attended the secondary and industrial school in Augsburg. After a one-year volunteer service there , he studied architecture at the TH Karlsruhe from 1879 to 1881 and became a member of the Teutonia fraternity in 1879 . In 1894 he became an honorary boy of the Stauffia fraternity in Munich .

From 1881 to 1888 he worked as an architect in Magdeburg , Berlin and Schweidnitz . Then he opened his own architecture office with Albert Jack in Augsburg. Both managed to prevail against the domination of the Munich architectural offices.

Wanner took part in the First World War as a volunteer .

In 1889 he became a member of the Historical Association for Swabia and for Neuburg . He was a member of the committee in 1916, vice chairman from 1927 to 1931 and honorary member in 1931. Wanner was a well-known tin collector whose collection was taken over by the Maximilian Museum in Augsburg.
