Maximilian von Catinelli
Maximilian Franz Josef Freiherr von Catinelli (born April 18, 1840 in Zara ; † October 24, 1907 there ) was an Austrian officer, most recently Feldzeugmeister , fortress commander of Trento and owner of Infantry Regiment No. 96.
Life
The son of the royal British Colonel Carl Ritter (diploma from December 27, 1854) by Catinelli (born March 30, 1780 in Gorizia; † July 27, 1869 ibid) was born in 1859 by the k. and k. Technical military academy retired and assigned to the 6th Genie Battalion as a lieutenant . In 1856 he received the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Eagle of Este . Then he was employed as a captain in the Military Geographic Institute in 1864/65 , took part in the 11th Jäger Battalion in the campaign against Italy in 1866 and was awarded the Military Merit Cross (KD) for his bravery at the Battle of Custozza.excellent. Catinelli took part in the fight against the insurrection of South Dalmatia in 1869 and in 1878 as a major and battalion commander in the occupation of Bosnia , was busy from 1873–1876 with the mapping of Moravia and East Galicia . With rank from November 1, 1878, he advanced to lieutenant colonel in the General Staff in Vienna , then in 1882 Colonel in the General Staff , 1882–1887 Director of Military Mapping and holder of the Order of the Iron Crown 3rd Class (KD) .
He was promoted to major general and brigadier on November 4, 1888, with rank of field marshal lieutenant and commander of the 34th infantry division from May 1, 1894 , in 1896 fortress commander of Trient, owner of infantry regiment No. 96, and finally to Vienna on October 6, 1901 (diploma 24 February 1902 ibid) Elevation to the baron class and promotion to Feldzeugmeister with title and character (April 27, 1901).
After his retirement he set up the “Freiherr von Catinelli Foundation for Infantry Regiment No. 96” on May 17, 1905.
His two sons also entered the military, with one of them, Maximilian, becoming Emperor Franz Joseph I's wing adjudicator .

1854 (Ritter): Squared shield. 1 and 4 in blue three (1, 2) flat silver bowls or bowls (talking coat of arms, Catinella, in Italian = bowl). 2 and 3 in silver, a pole with a black and gold wound pole, kk gold battalion flag flying off to the right in which the imperial black eagle and the flamed black, gold, red and silver edging. Jewel: two crowned helmets, over the front one an inward-facing, closed flight, divided alternately by blue and silver, over the back the flag as in a shield. The blankets are blue-silver. The motto in silver on a blue ribbon is: Est modus in rebus .
