Maxwell Medal
The Maxwell Medal ( English Maxwell Medal ) of the Institute of Physics is a prize for theoretical physics , which is awarded from 1961 and is intended to promote younger physicists in particular . The award is named after James Clerk Maxwell . It was awarded every even year until 1970, and annually thereafter. It is associated with a bronze medal and endowed with 1000 pounds sterling .
