Mayk Zimmermann (born March 27, 1968 ) is a former soccer player from the GDR .

Zimmermann began his football career as a teenager at BSG Schiffart / Rostock Harbor . From there he made the leap into the GDR youth team and received a job during the 1986 European U-18 Championship . At the end of the tournament, the youth team won the competition and Zimmermann was the U-18 European football champion.
For the 1987/88 season he moved to FC Hansa Rostock , where he played mainly in the reserve team in the GDR league . For the 1st team Hansa, which were eligible to play in the GDR Oberliga , he ran only twice. Zimmermann was taken into account in the competitive games against BSG Stahl Brandenburg and 1. FC Magdeburg .
After a year at Hansa, he returned to the company sports association Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock and scored two goals in 27 games in the 1988/89 season . In the following season, the striker scored in another six league games for Rostock once. There were also two hits in the second main round in the FDGB Cup . Zimmermann scored twice against BSG Chemie Böhlen .
In the winter break of 1989/90 Zimmermann joined the third division club 1. SC Norderstedt and stayed there until 1993. In Norderstedt, he played 108 games (8 goals) in the football league and in 1993 missed promotion to the second football league. Bundesliga just barely.
