The Mayon Volcano National Park is located in the Bicol region on the island of Luzon , Philippines . It was established in 2000 on an area of 58.03 km² around the active Mayon volcano in the Albay province .
Despite the frequent Mayon eruptions - around fifty are historically documented - the national park has a wide range of biodiversity . More than 156 plant species have been counted on the slopes of the volcano and it is covered with a dense rainforest . There were about 57 species are counted from a wide variety of birds continue as the Philippines Halsbandeule ( Otus megalotis ), the Philippine Eagle-Owl ( Bubo philippensis ) and the Philippinenpapageichen ( Loriculus philippensis ).
