The Mount Isarog National Park is located in the province of Camarines Sur on the island of Luzon in the Philippines . The national park was established on July 20, 1938 by presidential decree 238 on an area of 9,971 hectares, which completely includes the active Isarog volcano . The national park includes altitude zones between 150 meters and 1966 meters above sea level, at the summit of the Isarog. On June 20, 2002, the National Park was reassessed according to Proclamation 214 in accordance with the guidelines of the National Integrated Protected Areas System . Since then it has been designated as Mount Isarog Natural Park on an area of 101.12 km².

The vegetation in the national park is relatively diverse and includes parang grass areas that, paired with heather vegetation and lowland rainforest, occur up to a height of 1,000 meters, mountain forests over 900 meters to 1500 meters and low-growing mountain rainforest up to the summit region.

Mount Isarog is home to several endemic animal species, such as the Isarog shrew rat ( Archboldomys luzonensis ), the Isarog striped rat ( Chrotomys gonzalesi ) from the Luzon striped rat family , and the Isarog nasal rat ( Rhynchomys isarogensis ), about their biology is little known.

Tourism is very underdeveloped and limited to the Malabsay Waterfalls in the southeast of the national park and the sulphate hot springs of Hiwacloy .
