Mechthild Löhr

Mechthild E. Löhr (* 1960 in Tönisvorst ) is a German politician ( CDU ), personnel advisor and functionary of the right to life movement .

Life

Löhr studied political science , philosophy and public law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (MA). Since 1991 she has been running a personnel and management consultancy . From 1993 to 1999 she was on the board and from 1993 to 1996 chairwoman of the Association of Catholic Entrepreneurs (BKU). In the state elections in Hesse in 1999 she was in the shadow cabinet by Roland Koch as Minister of Culture provided the Office took over but due to resignation Karin Wolff . In 2002 she was elected as federal chairwoman of the Christian Democrats for Life (CDL) organization. From 2005 to 2014 and since 2017, Löhr was also a board member of the Bundesverband Lebensrecht (BVL). From 2001 to 2017 she was a member and deputy chairwoman of the ethics committee of Pax-Bank . In 2011 Pope Benedict XVI paid tribute to Löhr's voluntary commitment in church and society with the award of the Papal New Year's Eve . In 2020, Löhr received the Foundation Prize for her services in protecting life from the Yes to Life Foundation .
