The Medal For the Retrieval of Crimea ( Russian медаль “За возвращение Крыма” ) is an official award of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation . It was introduced on March 21, 2014 by Order No. 160 of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation.
history
The medal was introduced after the President of the Russian Federation , Vladimir Putin , signed the order for the annexation of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia on the basis of the results of the internationally unrecognized referendum .
The first medals were awarded on March 24, 2014. The awards from the hands of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu , former employees and military personnel of the dissolved in Ukraine on February 25, 2014 special unit " Berkut ", military personnel of the Russian Marines , officers from the command of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy and the government of the self-appointed government of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov got.
