The Mède is a river in France that runs in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region . It hides behind a number of changing names and rises initially under the name Vallon des Paillasses on the southern flank of Mont Ventoux , in the municipality of Bédoin , generally drains in a south-westerly direction, now takes the name Mède in its middle reaches and flows after a total of 35 kilometers under the name Grande Levade in the municipality of Bédarrides as a right tributary to the Sorgue .
