Media Leventina

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Along with Faido, Media Leventina is one of the two possible names of a future municipality in the Leventina district , Canton Ticino , Switzerland.

The merger area applied for on April 1, 2012 should include Faido and the following municipalities: Anzonico , Calpiogna , Campello , Cavagnago , Chironico , Mairengo and Osco .

The originally involved Sobrio is no longer part of the party (as of June 2011).

A forced merger cannot be ruled out, even after negative referendums, as some of the municipalities have hardly any resources. Some of them are completely dependent on the canton.

Fusion prehistory

In the spring of 2004, the residents of Faido approved the merger of their municipality with Chiggiogna , Osco, Mairengo, Calpiogna, Campello, Rossura , Calonico , Anzonico, Cavagnago and Sobrio in a referendum.
