Until March 31, 2012, Campello was a municipality in the Faido district in the Leventina district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland . The holiday resort of Carì belongs to Campello .

The village is located on the left slope of the central Leventina Valley at 1362 m above sea level. M.
history
The village is said to have emerged from the lower settlement Fontanedo, which was completely abandoned around the middle of the 18th century. Together with Calpiogna , Primadengo , Chinchengo and part of Faido , it belonged to Degagna Fichengo, one of the three Degagna in the Faido neighborhood. In 1853, when it was separated from Calpiogna, it became an independent municipality. Campello was the capital of the parish Mairengo in the Middle Ages and has been an independent parish since 1837.
Merger with Faido
Campello was an independent political municipality from 1853 when it separated from Calpiogna . In a referendum in March 2004, the residents of Campello rejected the merger of their municipality with Faido , Osco , Mairengo , Calpiogna, Anzonico , Rossura , Calonico , Chiggiogna , Cavagnago and Sobrio .
On April 1, 2012, Campello merged with the municipalities of Anzonico, Calpiogna, Cavagnago, Chironico , Mairengo and Osco to form the existing municipality of Faido.
