Meesia (German Bruchmoose ) is a genus of deciduous mosses from the Meesiaceae family .
features
Meesia species are medium-sized mosses that form loose lawns. The stems are simple or branched. The upright to protruding leaves have a strong rib that extends to the tip of the leaf. The lamina cells are rectangular to square above, thick-walled and smooth to slightly nipple, in the lower part of the leaf they are elongated and water-white. The spore capsules on the long seta are pear-shaped, the capsule neck (apophysis) is clearly separated. The species are diocesan or autocratic .

According to Frey / Fischer / Stech, there are seven Meesia species worldwide. Species found in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are:
- Meesia longiseta , long-stemmed broken moss
- Meesia triquetra , three-line broken moss
- Meesia uliginosa , broken hair moss
