All-mile obelisk in Aseleben

The Prussian milestone in Aseleben is a listed milestone on Eislebener Strasse in the west of Aseleben (municipality of the Mansfelder Land lake area ) in the Mansfeld-Südharz district in Saxony-Anhalt .

The Prussian Chaussee leading from Halle (Saale) to Eisleben was a section of the Chaussee Berlin - Kassel , which was built between 1824 and 1826. Therefore, the inscriptions on the whole milestone refer on the one hand to these two cities ("Eisleben 1 1/2 Meile", "Halle 2 3/4 Meile"), and on the other hand to the capital Berlin, from which it is 25 miles away and in which the zero point was at Dönhoffplatz .

The old road here is identical to today's Bundesstraße 80 , but the location had to be moved 70 meters away in the early 1990s. Next to the milestone that stands at the entrance to a gas station is a rescued kilometer stone with the inscription "23.0". It was originally in a different location, because one Prussian mile is 7.532 kilometers. From Halle the little stone is now at 23.6 km.

With the exception of the whole milestone in Langenbogen , the milestones west of Halle all have an identical structure. They consist of two benches and an obelisk with the Prussian eagle as a national emblem. In addition, like all the milestones between Halle and Eisleben, it is on the south side of the street. The stone has the registration number 094 08076 in the monument register . In 2005 and 2006 the stone, next to which there is also an information board from the Milestones research group, was extensively restored.
