The milestone at Porst is a Anhalt full milestone in the city of Köthen in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt . The small memorial is located halfway between Köthen and Porst on the north side of the road and is a round base stone typical of Anhalt. It is located on the most important east-west traffic route in Anhalt , which connected the capital Dessau with the cities of Köthen, Bernburg and Aschersleben , which later became federal highway 185 . The section from Dessau to Köthen was still considered particularly bad around 1800, as deep grooves formed here in the Kies-Chaussee and the side ditches were also allowed to deteriorate.

However, the Chausseehaus in Porst dates from 1822, i.e. from a time in which numerous Chausseehaus were also built in the vicinity in Prussia . On the other hand, Anhalt milestones can only be documented for the first time in 1853. Later, probably after 1874, the year of the final change from miles to kilometers, the milestone was converted into a kilometer stone. Therefore it bears the inscription "II miles from Dessau 15 km", which is badly weathered. It also has some damage to the top.

The next milestone along the Chaussee was in Schalaunische Strasse in Köthen, near the Gasthof Zum Bären . The next but one milestone has been preserved in Kleinpaschleben . These irregular distances also indicate a displacement in the kilometer system.
