Meistershofen is a district of Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance , which belongs to the core city.

history

Meistershofen was first mentioned in a document in 1255. The knight Werner von Raderach sold a farm in Jettenhausen and a small estate in Oberailingen to the Kreuzlingen monastery on October 25 of this year .

In 1414 the Teutonic Order Commune Mainau was owned by Meistershofen.

In 1812 Meistershofen belonged to the Hagendorn mayor and from 1838 it belonged to the municipality of Berg. In 1850, the Schnetzenhausen community was formed by dividing the Berg community. Meistershofen merged with Heiseloch , Jettenhausen and Waggershausen.

In 1915 there were 52 inhabitants, with growing industrialization in 1933 there were already 80 people, and in 1935 there were 261 inhabitants. On April 1, 1914, part of Meistershofen was reclassified to Friedrichshafen together with parts of Jettenhausen and Waggershausen. On April 1, 1937, the rest of them came to Friedrichshafen.

In 1922 the Friedrichshafen – Oberteuringen line of the Teuringertal Railway (TTB) was opened, with Meistershofen being given a stop. In the 1950s and 1960s, rail operations were reduced and finally stopped completely.

St. Blaise Chapel

This chapel in Meisterhofen is dedicated to St. Blasius, one of the 14 helpers in need. It is a well-preserved, only slightly changed building from the 11th / 12th. Century.
