Melanie Katz

Melanie Katz (* in Hanover ) is a German - Swiss author, poet and doctor of sociology . She publishes scientific work under the name Melanie Grütter. She lives and works in Zurich .

Life

Melanie Katz studied social psychology and German literature at the Leibniz University in Hanover and did her doctorate on gender as a category of knowledge at the University of Basel . She taught at the Zurich University of the Arts , among others .

In addition to teaching and working on her own publications, she initiates and supports innovative literature and poetry projects. She is the initiator of the lyrical project "The Lonely Burial" in Zurich, Basel , Winterthur and Lucerne and the "Poetry Consultation". She wrote for "Literature for what happens" at the BuchBasel, among others . Together with Donat Blum and Katrin Bach she curates "VIRAL - the online literature festival".

She is a member of the Association of Authors of Switzerland (AdS) and the collective Index - Word and Effect .

Your work has been funded several times, e.g. B. by the Swiss National Science Foundation , the Ernst Göhner Foundation and the Culture Fund of the Canton of Zurich.

Works

Her works include a monograph and academic articles, a volume of poetry , short stories as well as essays and reports for the radio. She presented her volume of poetry Silent Syntax at the Literaturhaus Zürich and at the Solothurn Literature Days . He was reviewed by Viceversa Literature, among others .
