Melanie Reinsch

Melanie Reinsch (born October 1, 1979 in Niebüll ) is a German journalist . She has been the spokesperson for the Berlin Senate since March 1, 2020 .

Life

Reinsch graduated from high school in 1999 and trained as a media designer for print and digital media from 1999 to 2002 . She then worked from 2002 to 2005 as a telecommunications consultant and graphic designer . From 2005 to 2009 she majored in journalism and communication sciences with a minor in political sciences and art history at the Free University of Berlin , completing her degree with a bachelor's degree . After completing her studies, she did an internship at the Märkische Oderzeitung (MOZ) from 2009 to 2011 and worked there as a local editor in 2011. From 2012 to 2015 she was an online editor and reporter for the Berliner Zeitung . As a national political correspondent , she worked at DuMont from 2015 to 2018 in the capital's editorial team. Before becoming spokeswoman for the Berlin Senate on March 1, 2020 , she was the state political correspondent for the Berliner Zeitung and Berliner Kurier s from 2018 to 2020 . Reinsch is the successor to Claudia Sünder , who reoriented herself professionally and switched to business. Melanie Reinsch is not a state secretary , but an employed department head ( department spokeswoman for the Senate and head of the press and information office ) in the Senate Chancellery .
