Melchior Treub
Melchior Treub (born December 26, 1851 in Voorschoten , † October 3, 1910 in Saint-Raphaël ) was a Dutch botanist . His botanical author abbreviation is " Treub ".
Life
Treub studied from 1869 at the University of Leiden and then worked as a botanical assistant to Willem Frederik Reinier Suringar . On the recommendation of his teacher, he worked as a botanist in the Dutch East Indies from 1880 to 1909 . There he was in charge of the Buitenzorg Botanical Garden , where he worked for almost thirty years.
