Melinda Czink [ ˈmɛlindɒ ˈtsink ] (born October 22, 1982 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian tennis player .
Career
In her career, the left-hander has won one title on the WTA Tour so far , in Québec in 2009 . She reached another final (2005 in Canberra ) and made it into a semi-final twice (2006 in Bangalore and 2009 in Fès ). She was also eleven times in the quarterfinals of a WTA tournament.
At the ITF Women's Circuit she has already won 20 tournaments in singles and ten in doubles.
In September 2009 Czink reached her highest position in the WTA world rankings with 37th place . After their most successful season by far in 2009 - with the personal top placement and the first title on the tour - there was a setback. In 2011, she made her sit up and take notice again with her move into the third round at Wimbledon . In the summer of 2012 she temporarily returned to the top 100; At the end of 2012 it was in 96th place.
Between 2003 and 2006 she played 12 games for the Hungarian Fed Cup team with a balanced record .
Melinda Czink has not played a match on the ladies tour since November 3, 2014. She is no longer listed in the world rankings.
