Melodie Johnson , also Melodie Johnson Howe , (born October 23, 1943 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress and author .

Life

Johnson was studying at the University of California at Los Angeles when she was approached at a party by film producer Hal Landers and invited to a casting at Universal Studios . This was negative, but another casting at Universal Studios went so well that she received a film contract. She subsequently received guest appearances on television series such as The People of Shiloh Ranch , Laredo and Your Appearance, Al Mundy and supporting roles in films such as Coogan's Big Bluff alongside Clint Eastwood , Gaily, Gaily alongside Beau Bridges and Whiskey Brutal alongside Richard Widmark . In addition to her acting career, she attended UCLA's continuing education program, where she studied creative writing . Towards the end of the 1970s there were no role offers, whereupon she first appeared in television commercials, but then ended her acting career.

Johnson, with the mid-1960s film music - producer Bones Howe is married, then wrote her first crime novel under her full name Melody Johnson Howe . After this was rejected by several publishers, The Mother Shadow was published by Viking Press . Beauty Dies followed later . Both books have been translated into German and have been published by Goldmann Verlag .
