Criticism of the study

The ranking is probably the best-known popular scientific study on this topic. The result is reported in many media. The question of how the data was collected and evaluated is not taken into account. In fact, the company does not provide any data in this report that could be verified. In addition, the selection and weighting criteria are tailored to the needs of Mercer's customers.

Analytically conducted surveys in order to e.g. B. The ability to determine basic salaries for a location are offered by the consulting company as so-called "Local Evaluation Reports" for amounts of several hundred dollars.

"Smartphone stress factor"

A study published in 2013 on the effects of the constant availability of smartphones on managers attracted a lot of media attention.
