Mercy Docteur Rey is a 2002 comedy film directed by Andrew Litvack .

action

The opera and theater actress Elisabeth Beaumont is a diva through and through. With her starry airs she sometimes makes life hell for her fellow human beings. However, she hardly knows anything about the life of her son Thomas, which is perhaps better. This is because he passes the time in nightclubs with other men instead of earning a living. At one of these parties, he witnessed a murder and then embroiled in a triangular affair.

background

Merci Docteur Rey is the debut film by Andrew Litvack, who until then was mainly responsible for dubbing French films. The film has been shown at several film festivals, including the 2002 Mill Valley Film Festival and the Cleveland International Film Festival . In 2004 it was released on DVD.

Reviews

The comedy received mixed reviews. While the actors were mostly praised for their convincing performances, the film itself came off rather badly. It is said, for example, that it is jam-like and that it falters in many places; from the other side even, his ambitions to be high intellectual farce and sober crime thriller at the same time , exploded in an unmanageable mess.
