Vernon Dobtcheff (born August 14, 1934 in Nîmes ) is a French film and theater actor and screenwriter .

life and career

Dobtcheff, who has Russian ancestors, grew up in England in the mid-1940s , where he began his career on the theater stage. From 1963 he was also in front of the camera in feature films and thus appeared in almost 300 films and television series. He has appeared in both British and French and Italian productions. Usually used in supporting roles, he has appeared in famous films such as The Jackal , James Bond 007 - The Spy Who Loved Me , Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, and Before Sunset . In 2005 he also wrote the screenplay for the 11-minute short film Resonance of Tears , in which Dobtcheff also played the leading role.
