Mereoni Vibose

Mereoni Vibose (born April 26, 1951 , † January 27, 2018 in Sigatoka ) was a Fijian javelin thrower , discus thrower and shot putter .

In 1969 she won silver in the discus throw and in the javelin throw at the South Pacific Games in Port Moresby .

At the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch in 1974 she was seventh in the javelin throw and eleventh in the discus throw; in the shot put she was eliminated from qualification.

In 1975 she won the South Pacific Games in the javelin throw and took bronze in the discus throw; In 1979 she defended her javelin throwing title. At the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, she was eighth in the javelin throw and ninth in the discus throw.

In 1983 she was eliminated from the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in the javelin throw and the discus throw in qualification. At the South Pacific Games, she won silver in both disciplines.

In 1987 she failed in qualifying in the javelin throw at the World Cup in Rome and won the South Pacific Games for the third time.

In 1990 she won the Oceania Athletics Championships in Suva and won bronze in the discus throw. 1991 followed a bronze medal in the discus throw at the South Pacific Games.
