Merete Fjeldavlie (born August 13, 1968 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian ski racer .

Athletic career

The downhill , giant slalom and super-G specialist achieved various top positions. Her first placement in the World Cup prizes on January 28, 1990 in the giant slalom of Santa Caterina was a top ten placement with rank 10. Third place on January 29, 1992 at the Super-G in Morzine was her first podium. On March 8, 1992, she won the Super-G in Vail (USA) ahead of the Austrian Petra Kronberger and Carole Merle (FRA), which also meant the first women's victory in the World Cup for Norway. That season she finished 2nd in the Super G World Cup. In total, she was classified 44 times in the World Cup prizes in the 108 starts listed by the FIS , ten of them in the "top ten".

It was less successful at major events. A 9th place in the downhill at the 2001 World Ski Championships in St. Anton am Arlberg was her best result. In 2002 she ended her career as a ski racer.
