Mervyn Frost

Mervyn Frost (* 1947 ) is a South African political scientist .

Life

Frost studied at the University of Stellenbosch (BA, MA, DPhil ) and as a Rhodes scholar at the University of Oxford (BPhil). He initially taught at the University of Cape Town and Rhodes University . He then occupied the Chair of Political Science at the University of Natal in Durban (South Africa), where he also became Dean. In 1996 he became Professor of International Relations at the University of Kent at Canterbury.

In 2003 he became Professor of International Relations at the Center for International Relations at King's College London . From 2007 to 2013 he was head of the Department of War Studies (DWS) there.

He was also President of the South African Association of Political Studies and Editor of the journal Politikon and is currently a member of the editorial boards of several journals. Frost was on the Executive Committee of the International Studies Association (ISA) and until 2008 Chairman of the International Ethics Section of the ISA.
