Mezőtúr (German: Thur ) is a town in the Mezőtúr small area within Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County in eastern Hungary . In 2011, 17,620 inhabitants lived in an area of 289.72 km². Mezőtúr is the administrative seat of the small area of the same name. The main road 46 leads through the city .
location
Mezőtúr lies east of the river Tisza on its tributary Hortobágy-Berettyó . The station is on the Szolnok – Arad railway line ( MAV No. 120). The Mezőtúr – Mezőhegyes railway (No. 125) branches off north of the city . From 1885 to 1975 a railway line to Túrkeve was also operated.
