history
Laudon emerged from the Wurzler Meierhof (also known as Wurzlerhof , Kořen ), a manor and emigrant farm that belonged to Albrechtice. It was originally founded by Vratislav von Pernstein and is mentioned for the first time in 1588.
In 1789 the farm was cut up and, in addition to the resident family of the farm, another 30 families were settled, all of them from the surrounding area:
- eight families from Horní Třešňovec ( Ober Johnsdorf )
- six from Albrechtice ( Olbersdorf )
- four from Horní Heřmanice ( Ober Hermanitz )
- two families each from Herbortice ( Herbotitz ), Dolní Heřmanice ( Nieder Hermanitz ), Žichlínek ( Sichelsdorf ), Sázava u Lanškrouna ( Zohsee )
- One family each from Damníkov (Thomigsdorf), Trpík ( Türpes ), Výprachtice ( Weipersdorf ) and Cotkytle ( Zotkittel or Zottkittl ).
The place got its German name after the Austrian field marshal Ernst Gideon von Laudon , who stayed in Landskron in 1758 and conquered Belgrade in the year the town was founded. In 1873 Laudon broke away from Herbotitz and became an independent community. In 1991 the place had 50 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 21 houses in which 38 people lived.
