Mia and me - Adventure in Centopia is an Italian-German-Canadian television series based on an idea by Gerhard Hahn , which revolves around 12-year-old Mia, whose parents are missing and who has to settle in a boarding school in Florence . The series was filmed as a combination of live action and CGI - Animation . With the help of the two styles, two worlds are distinguished in the series: the boarding school world and in the second season the grandfather's farm as a real film and the fantasy world “Centopia” as a CGI animation.

Season 1 All Mia inherited from her parents is an old book and a magical bracelet with which she can switch to the magical world of Centopia. In Centopia, Mia is an elf and is the only unicorns who can understand and communicate with them.

In Centopia, Mia quickly finds out that this world is threatened by the evil Queen Panthea, who is after the horn of the unicorns in order to become younger with the help of a magic potion. Mia goes on many adventures with her elf friends Yuko and Prince Mo to save Centopia. But even in the real world, at boarding school, Mia has no rest: Together with her boarding school friends Paula and Vincent, she has to assert herself against nasty classmates, above all against Violetta and her clique.

Season 2 Mia spends her vacation on her grandfather Renzo's farm. As soon as she arrives, she has to travel to Centopia with a new oracle. A floating island approaches Centopia. The mysterious Rixel claims to want to put on magical shows here in which he shows his exotic and extremely rare animals. But it quickly becomes clear that Rixel is up to evil and is only out to catch a winged unicorn for his lord and master, the Dark Elf, so that he can become a Dark Elf himself. Mia sees through Rixel, and together with Yuko, Mo and the unicorn Onchao, she tries to thwart Rixel's plans. Mia and her friends go in search of Onchao's father - Ono, the unicorn king.

Season 3 The winged unicorn Onchao has a little sister named Kyara. Immediately she enchants all unicorns and elves. In doing so, Onchao realizes that his powers are changing and that he does not always have them under control. But the most important thing in the world now is to protect your little sister Kyara. In the other world, Mia gets a great birthday present from her aunt Anni. Mia is now played by actress Margot Nuccetelli .

Mia

  • Mia is the main character in the series. In the first season she moves to boarding school in Florence. As an elf in Centopia, she had trouble flying at first. She quickly befriends the elves in Centopia, especially Mo and Yuko. She also has a special gift, she understands the language of the unicorns.
  • In the second season, Mia visits her grandfather Renzo's farm and befriends Mario there. In Centopia, Mia has more exciting adventures and helps the elves to protect Centopia from further dangers.

Friends

Vincent
  • Vincent goes to the same boarding school as Mia and is a good friend of hers. He found out about Mia's secret very early on and has been on Mia's side ever since.
Paula
  • Paula is Mia's friend and her roommate at the boarding school. At first she belonged to Violetta's clique, from which she had turned away more and more because she noticed that Violetta was taking advantage of her and Mia was much friendlier. She learns Mia's secret in the penultimate episode of the first season.
Mario
  • Mario meets Mia on her grandfather Renzo's farm. There he helps the grandfather with his work. He and Mia quickly become friends.
Grandpa Renzo
  • Grandpa Renzo owns a farm in Italy. This is about to be foreclosed. Together with Mia and Mario, Grandpa Renzo tries to save the farm.
Sara
  • Sara meets Mia during the holidays, she is blind, but they become best friends and Sara finally arrives in Centopia and helps.

Violetta di Nola
  • Violetta is Mia's rival. At first, Paula was part of her clique, the "Alpha Chicks". She is vain and believes she can do anything. She's constantly trying to ridicule Mia in front of everyone. She also wants to know why Mia always has her book with her and what is in it. Even if you don't see it at first, Violetta is unhappy with her mother. She has to be the best at everything because that's what her mother wants. That's why she wants to move in with her father. She loves unicorns and is Princess Varia in Centopia. She befriends Mo, Yuko and Mia. Contessa di Nolan is her mother
Contessa di Nola
  • Contessa di Nola is Violetta's mother. She owns the whole land around Grandpa Renzo's farm. She is a very self-centered and vain woman and always wants her daughter to win horse shows.

Yuko
  • Yuko is Mia's best friend. She is the fun guy of the group and can fly really well. She also has an eye on Mo.
Mon
  • Mo is Mia's best friend. As the son of Elf Queen Mayla and Elf King Raynor, he is the rightful heir to the throne of Centopia. He also wants to become as wise a ruler as his father.
Simo
  • Elf boy Simo lives lonely with his mother in the Black Forest. He quickly becomes friends with Mia, Mo and Yuko and helps the three on their adventures.
Varia
  • When Violetta travels to Centopia, she becomes the Elf Varia there! She can travel to Centopia because she has a piece of Mia's bracelet. She pretended to be amnesia. She posed as a princess from another country. At first she is Rixel's spy, but then takes Mia's side. Varia is extremely bold, self-confident and selfish. She has yet to learn what it means to be a true elf, to stand up for her friends and put her own needs behind.

The opponents

Panthea
  • Panthea is the evil queen in season one. She dreams of being forever young, which is why she also catches the unicorns, because she needs their horns. Because she has not yet captured all of the unicorns, she wears a mask under which she cannot be seen during the entire program.
Gargona
  • Gargona is Panthea's henchman and general of the Munculuss army. Although she is ordered around by Panthea, she serves her without protest.
  • In the second season, Gargona tries with Rixel's help to leave Centopia and return to Dystopia, the land of the dark elves. But she does not succeed.
Rixel
  • Rixel arrives on Centopia with his floating island Funtopia and is a funny elf at first sight. But in reality he is after the unicorns of Centopia, especially Onchao. He is on the road on behalf of the Dark Elf.
The dark elf
  • The Dark Elf is the leader of the Dark Elves. His name is Lord Drakon. He sent Rixel and Panthea to Centopia to catch a winged unicorn. All dark elves live on a gloomy island called Dystopia.
Gurga
  • Gurga is the dragon from Rixel. He's allergic to Phuddle's soup and always sneezes.
Dax
  • Dax is sent by Lord Drakon in the third season. He brings the night potion with him to Centopia and is supposed to help Gargona get the golden horn.
Hoopa
  • They were sent to Centopia with Dax.

unicorns

  • Onchao is a special unicorn because he has wings and a golden horn. His friends lovingly take care of the little foal. In season 3, he takes care of his little sister Kyara.
  • Lyria is Onchao's mother, which is why she always tries to protect him. She is the first unicorn Mia came into contact with and therefore has a particularly close bond with Mia.
  • Kyara is Onchao's little sister who is born in the third season. Onchao does everything possible to protect Kyara.
  • Ono is the missing unicorn king and the father of Onchao. Ono also has wings.
  • The elemental unicorns (water, wind, fire, earth) are the most powerful unicorns in Centopia. They play a big role especially in seasons 1 and 2.
  • The natural unicorns (Balanda, Zato, Yolika) live in the Black Forest and are the descendants of the earth and water unicorn.
  • The special unicorns (stone, crystal, star, moon, sun, ice) are the children of the elemental unicorns and friends of the unicorn king Ono.
  • Baby Blue is a little dragon who later becomes a friend of Onchau

Graphic design

Many elements, such as buildings and robes, but also decorative elements in the manes of the unicorns, are inspired by Art Nouveau . Motifs by the painter Gustav Klimt can be found on the robes of the figures .
