Michał Białk

Michał Białk (born March 4, 1982 in Krakow ) is a Polish pianist.

In addition to his solo concert activities, he works regularly with the Hamburg Ballet John Neumeier. His interpretations are often praised for their emotional depth, impressive technical security and artistic veracity.

Life and career

Michał Białk studied in Freiburg , Amsterdam , Paris , Rostock and Vienna . He received a scholarship from the renowned Peter Fuld Foundation in Frankfurt and the prize for young artists from the Pro Europa Foundation in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

He worked with Elza Kolodin, Matthias Kirschnereit and Oleg Maisenberg , among others .

At the age of 17 he won the International Chopin Competition in Ankara in 1999 and caused a sensation. Further prizes at international competitions in France, Italy and Spain followed.

Since his debut at the Krakow Philharmonic, Michał Białk has performed regularly in many European and international countries. a. in the Wiener Musikverein , in the Stadtcasino Basel , in the Konserthuset in Stockholm or in the Salle Cortot in Paris, at the Festival International de Colmar and at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival .
