Michael-Egidius Luthardt (born December 13, 1957 in Meiningen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen , formerly Die Linke ) and was directly elected member of the Brandenburg State Parliament for the Left Party and its agricultural policy spokesman from 2009 to 2014 . Because of his military service in the "Feliks Dzierzynski" guard regiment, Luthardt is a full-time employee of the Ministry for State Security .

Life

Michael Luthardt grew up in the southern Thuringian town of Meiningen and attended the "Friedrich Schiller" polytechnic high school from 1964 to 1974 . He then completed vocational training with a high school diploma as a forestry worker in Bad Doberan from 1974 to 1977 . From October 1977 to October 1980 he did military service in the "Feliks Dzierzynski" guard regiment , which was subordinate to the MfS. There he belonged to a special unit of the working group of the minister / security (AGM / S). His service in the guard regiment consisted of guarding a former manor in the forest, which was mostly empty and was used by the MfS to conduct courses. He carried out porter services and patrols there. From April 1, 1978 up to and including September 30, 1980, he was transferred to the Minister's "Security" working group. This was responsible for the task force and combat group of the Ministry for State Security (MfS) in the event of a crisis or defense. He was a full-time member of the Ministry for State Security.

Luthardt studied forestry at the Technical University of Dresden from 1980 to 1985 . In 1985 he became a research assistant at the Institute for Forestry in Eberswalde (today's Eberswalde University of Applied Sciences ). In 1989 Luthardt received his doctorate rerum silvaticarum . After reunification he worked in the Schorfheide Biosphere Reserve and later in the Brandenburg Ministry of Agriculture until 2014. Since November 2014, Luthardt has been head of the State Competence Center Forst Eberswalde (LFE) in the State Forestry Brandenburg (LFB).

Luthardt has two children.

politics

He became a member of the SED on January 17, 1977 and left the party at the time of the fall. In 2003 he began to become politically active again in a community of voters at the local level. Luthardt has been a member of the Barnim district assembly for Die Linke since 2008 . From October 2009 he was a member of the Brandenburg Left Group and was its agricultural policy spokesman. He won his direct mandate in the constituency of Barnim III with 31.4 percent of the first votes cast. After the state elections in Brandenburg in 2014 , he left the state parliament. In 2017, Luthardt resigned from the left. He then joined Alliance 90 / The Greens. In the Brandenburg state election on September 1, 2019 , he stood for his party in the Barnim III state electoral district , but missed the direct entry into the state parliament. In January 2020, in favor of Ricarda Budke, for health reasons, he decided not to move into the state parliament as a successor for Axel Vogel .

Military service in the "Feliks Dzierzynski" guard regiment

According to the Stasi Records Act , members of the guard regiment are considered full-time employees of the State Security. In his 39-page file at the BStU there is also a handwritten declaration of commitment from 1978. In it, Luthardt declared that he was ready to use all “forces and skills” to fulfill the duties and tasks of the MfS, which corresponds to the usual standard text. According to his own statement, Luthardt refused a declaration of commitment as an unofficial employee after the end of his military service. Luthardt had announced his military service in the guard regiment within the party before the state elections in Brandenburg. However, media attention was drawn to the fact that his website had failed to disclose where it was served. Thereupon there was talk of a "new Stasi case in the Brandenburg left-wing faction".
