Michael Becker (born November 26, 1954 in Berlin ; † January 16, 2011 in Edmonton , Alberta , Canada ) was a German composer and songwriter .

Career

Michael Becker was born in Berlin. Since the 1980s he worked in the US film business, among other things. Since the 1990s he has been writing and composing songs for The Walt Disney Company, for example . His song Go Ape was used for the film George - The Came from the Jungle, and he also produced soundtracks for Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh .

In the film business, he also provided soundtracks for television series and films such as Miami Vice , Explorers - A Fantastic Adventure , Manhunter - Red Dragon , Winnie the Pooh on a Great Journey , LA Crash and Seven Lives . For his artistic performance on In the Deep from the film LA. Crash received he and Kathleen York at the Academy Awards 2006 nominated in the category " Best Song ". Becker's songs were also used at the 2006 Academy Awards and American Idol .
