Michael Cherry (born March 23, 1995 ) is an American athlete who mainly competes over 400 meters .

Cherry started over 400 meters at the Youth World Championships in Eugene in 2014 and was able to win the gold medal there with the relay. Two years later he also won the gold medal with the relay (4 × 400 meters) at the U23 NACAC championships and he also came second in the 400 meters. He only had to admit defeat to Olympic starter Nathon Allen .

His international breakthrough came in 2017 when he won silver in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2017 World Championships in London . At the beginning of 2018 he became the American national indoor champion over 400 meters and was consequently nominated for the indoor world championships . Here he won silver over his parade distance both as an individual starter and with the relay.
