Michael Hurst

Michael Eric Hurst , ONZM (born September 20, 1957 in Lancashire , England ) is a British - New Zealand film actor and director .

Life

Hurst was born in Lancashire, England. When he was seven years old, his parents emigrated with him and his two brothers to Christchurch, New Zealand. There he attended the Papanui High School in Tokoroa , later the University of Canterbury . He has been married to actress Jennifer Ward-Lealand since 1988 , with whom he has two children.

The 1.68 meter tall Hurst gained worldwide fame through the role of Iolaus in the television series Hercules .

Awards

Michael Hurst won the 1997 New Zealand Film and TV Award for best supporting role in a television production in the series Hercules . In 1999 he won this award for best director for the same series.
