Michael Keller (born May 2, 1963 in Glendale , United States ) is a German designer . He lives and works in Munich .

Life

Michael Keller studied in Munich and at the Parsons School of Design in New York, where he received a Cooper Union scholarship. From the mid-1980s to 2011, he and Knut Maierhofer managed the design agency KMS Team, the second largest agency for corporate identity and corporate design in Germany. With the founding of KMS Blackspace in 2012 (which he runs together with Christoph Rohrer, Marc Ziegler and Hannes Dölker), Michael Keller is further focusing his work on the development of brand experiences.

Keller developed corporate identity for numerous brands, companies and events, including Audi , Vodafone , Lamborghini , Mercedes and the World Trade Center .

Michael Keller's well-known works include the conception for the Audi Museum in Ingolstadt (“ museum mobile ”, 2000), the appearance of the Munich Pinakotheken (2002), the installation “Medienwolke” for O 2 (2005) and the Voestalpine company museum in Linz (2008) and the temporary mirror installation “Qube 3” for Audi in the port of Barcelona (2011) and the hanging city for Audi (2013). Overall, Michael Keller designed more than 85 national and international trade fair appearances, including a. at the IAA Frankfurt , the Mondial de l'Automobile Paris , the International Geneva Motor Show , the Tokyo Motor Show , the Detroit Auto Show and Auto China .

In May 2013 the exhibition at the Pinakothek der Moderne presented an installation by Michael Keller entitled “Blackspace. Two views on the creative mind ".

Keller is a member of the Art Directors Club Germany and a founding member of the International Patrons of the Pinakothek. With Corinna Thierolf and Franz von Bayern , Keller launched the first pop-up museum in Bavaria: the exhibition series “Royal Class” at the Pinakothek der Moderne in the New Herrenchiemsee Palace .

Keller was a founding member of the “Munich needs an Otl-Aicher-Strasse” initiative, which in 2010 achieved the naming of a street by the city of Munich after the famous designer Otl Aicher .
