Michael "Mike" Klukowski (born May 27, 1981 in Amstetten , Austria ) is a former Canadian football player who also has Polish citizenship.
Club career
Klukowski came in the 1998/99 season from the Scarborough Blues to the French third division club FCO Dijon , but played there only in the reserve team and later got through the amateur club Tourcoing FC in the second team of the Lille OSC . In 2002 Klukowski moved to the Belgian first division club RAA La Louvière . In his first season he reached the Belgian Cup final with La Louvière, defeating VV St. Truiden 3-1, winning the first national title in the club's history. Together with his teammate Manasseh Ishiaku , he moved to league rivals Club Bruges in January 2005 . At Bruges he was only used in the last games of the season in his first half year and was involved in Bruges title win with six appearances.
From the 2005/06 season, the left-back established himself in the Bruges defensive network and won the Belgian Cup for the second time in 2007 against Standard Liège . For the 2010/11 season he moved to MKE Ankaragücü and signed a three-year contract. The contract was terminated after a year and he moved to Manisaspor . In 2012 he joined the Cypriot top club APOEL Nicosia . After a total of 16 league games and the championship title , he ended his active career there a year later.
National team
Klukowski was part of the Canadian squad at the 2001 Junior World Cup in Argentina and was used in all three games in the preliminary round. In 2003 he made his international debut for the Canadian national team in a friendly against Libya . Until 2007 he was mainly used in friendly games in Europe, since 2008 he has also been part of the squad for competitive games in America. In July 2009 he took part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup with the Canadian team . By 2012 he played a total of 36 international matches, but failed to score.
